It’s November 4th, which means Halloween candy might finally be out of sight (but not quite out of mind), and the decorations have probably found a cozy corner in the garage until next year. The pumpkins are turning, the Thanksgiving recipes are resurfacing, and suddenly, it’s jacket weather—sort of, on alternating days. Classic Indiana fall, right?

This week, we’re diving into a lineup of cozy events, some neighborly updates, and, as always, a few reminders to slow down and enjoy the golden leaves (before they’re all in your gutters). So, pour that extra cup of coffee, and let’s start November right. 🍂☕

Leaf pickup in Whiteland starts today! To keep things running smoothly, make sure to pile leaves along the curb (not in the street), avoid bagging them, and keep branches or other debris out. Let’s work together to make leaf pickup safe and efficient for everyone!

More voting locations are opening across Johnson and Marion counties this Tuesday, making it even easier to cast your ballot! With additional spots available, you can skip the long lines and vote at a location that’s convenient for you. To find the closest polling place, click here and make a plan to vote!

Bargersville is kicking off its own Merry & Bright Contest, inviting residents and businesses to deck the town with festive lights and displays. Participation is free—just register online here by December 8. Judging happens on December 10 & 11, and a map of all the dazzling displays will be shared with the public starting December 13. Categories include Individual, Subdivision, and Commercial/Business, so everyone has a chance to shine!

Franklin just got a little spicier! Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken & Wings opened its doors on Friday, November 1st, at 200 Paris Dr, Franklin, IN 46131. Stop by to try their hot chicken and wings, served up daily from 11 AM - 9 PM (10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon - 8 PM on Sundays). Locally owned and operated, this new spot is ready to feed all your spicy cravings!
