🍩 Your Week’s Got Lemonade, Local Love & Zero Boredom

Discover what's happening in Greenwood, Center Grove, Franklin, Bargersville, and beyond this week!

TOGETHER WITH

We’re officially in the final lap before Memorial Day weekend, aka the most sacred of Hoosier holidays: Race Weekend. While the Indy 500 buzz is building and folks are already staking out lawn chair positions, Mother Nature decided to ease us in with a cool breeze and a not-so-toasty 75° high. (By Thursday, we’re dipping down to hoodie weather, so don’t put away your layers just yet.)

So whether you’re prepping your grill, dusting off the checkered flag, or just trying to make it through the week without getting sunburned and frostbitten in the same 48 hours—grab a seat, because we’ve got your local rundown right here.

In today’s South Side Scoop:

  • 🍋 Leanor’s Lemonade is back—and they’re looking for hosts to help fund lifesaving childhood cancer research!

  • đŸ„« Need a boost? Faith UCC’s Monday food pantry has your back—no questions asked.

  • 🎹 From dolphin painting to DIY doormats, the week is packed with artsy, family-friendly fun!

Let’s get to it!

THE DIGEST

Leanor’s Lemonade Returns to Fund Childhood Cancer Research - Hosts Needed!

With the help of their incredible southside neighbors, Leanor’s Lemonade Stand (a local fundraiser supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation) has raised over $15,000 since 2021 and that’s more than seven weeks of pediatric cancer research funded! This year’s stand kicks off during the West Perry Library’s Summer Reading Kickoff (located at 6650 S Harding St, Indianapolis) on Friday, May 31st from 11am–3pm, with more events planned for June 1st and June 6th. The team is currently seeking businesses willing to host the stand on those dates - it’s a sweet and simple way to make a big difference. Stop by for lemonade, treats, crafts, and a whole lot of heart!

Faith UCC Offers Monday Food Pantry

Faith United Church of Christ is making sure no one goes without. Their Monday Dry Goods Food Pantry is open again on Monday, May 19th from 10am–12pm at 4040 E Thompson Rd in Indianapolis. No ID, paperwork, or proof of income is needed. Just stop by and pick up what you need from shelves stocked with non-perishables, dry goods, and pantry staples. It's a judgment-free, neighbor-helping-neighbor kind of place.
