Local Hero: 10-Year-Old Owen Arkins Honored for Saving Toddler
This summer, 10-year-old Owen Arkins became a hero at the Saddle Club North pool when he saved 2-year-old Jack, who jumped into the deep end without his floaties. Thanks to Owen's quick thinking and swim lessons, he kept Jack above water until they reached the side safely. The Town of Bargersville and the Fire Department honored Owen with a Lifesaving Award, reminding everyone of the importance of swim safety. Great job Owen!
Bargersville Harvest Moon Fest This Weekend!
Bargersville's annual Harvest Moon Fall Festival is back on Saturday, September 21, from noon to 9 p.m.! Head to Main Street for family fun with live music, food trucks, local crafts, a car cruise-in, and more. This free event is perfect for kicking off the fall season!

Smoothie King Expanding in Indianapolis, Franklin, and Speedway
Smoothie King is expanding in central Indiana, planning to grow from nine locations to 13 by summer 2025. After a failed first attempt in Indianapolis in the early 2000s, the smoothie chain returned in 2015 under franchisee Chris Sgroi. New stores are set to open in Indianapolis, Franklin, and Speedway. The southside locations will be located at 1151 N. Morton St. in Franklin and 8603 S. Emerson Ave. as a part of the Claybrooke Commons retail center.

Hoosier Vintage Wheels Swap Meet and Car Show
Over 500 vendor spaces will feature new and used auto parts for vintage vehicles, muscle cars, and race cars, along with memorabilia, gas and oil antiques, and more at the fairgrounds. Admission is $5, with free entry for kids and free parking.

Homeview Car Show & Fall Festival
Join Homeview Health & Rehabilitation Center at their Fall Festival and enjoy live music, a car show, food trucks, a bounce house, vendors and more with all proceeds going towards the fight to End Alzheimer's!

36th Annual Fish and Tenderloin Fry
Enjoy hand-breaded Icelandic cod or tenderloin sandwiches with sides and a drink for $10, or opt for an individual sandwich for $7. Available options include drive-thru, carry-out, delivery (within certain local areas), and dine-in. Proceeds support Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church's outreach efforts, which include providing school supplies, meals for first responders, and partnering with non-profits to serve the community.
