THE DIGEST
Greenwood Teen Speed Skater Sets Sights on 2034 Olympics
How cool is this? Greenwoodâs own Quinn Derheimer, just 16 years old, was recently featured in a WRTV interview sharing his journey from skating at Perry Park to competing around the world in speed skating. Quinn now trains in Milwaukee with his sights set on the 2034 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and weâre definitely rooting for him every step (or stride) of the way! Big thanks to Jessica Gruenling at WRTV for highlighting his story!
Mark Your Calendar: Greenwoodâs Lighted Trail & Holiday Fun Kick Off December 7th
Greenwood is getting festive with two holiday events this December! The Lighted Trail opens Sunday, December 7th at Amphitheater Park, featuring over 42,000 lights, including candy cane tunnels, arches, and 85 lit trees; plus live ambient entertainment throughout the month. While you're there, snap a selfie and start a new tradition with your family. Kids can also enter a holiday coloring contest sponsored by Greenwood Parks, with entries due by December 14th and winners announced the next day.
