Happy Monday, everyone!

It's October 21st, and this warm weather has us all wondering—did Halloween forget to check the calendar? Spooky season's in full swing, but the only thing haunting us right now is the realization that we’re still sweating through our sweaters! Who knew we’d be picking out pumpkins in flip-flops?

But hey, let’s count our blessings: fewer chilly winds means more time for costume parades and outdoor decorations that won’t get blown into the neighbor’s yard. So grab your iced pumpkin lattes, slap on some sunscreen, and let’s ease into this sunny start to the week with spooky vibes! 👻🎃

In today’s South Side Scoop:

  • ☀️ Warm October: It’s October 21st, but the weather feels more like summer, with pumpkin picking in flip-flops!

  • 📚️ Educators Honored: Franklin College professors received awards for reducing textbook costs with Open Educational Resources.

  • 💰️ Emergency Grants: Duke Energy Foundation granted $215,000 to boost Indiana's emergency response efforts, benefiting local communities.

Let’s get to it!
