THE DIGEST
Barn Cats Available for Adoption at Johnson County Animal Shelter
The Johnson County Animal Shelter is offering spayed and neutered barn cats for adoption; perfect for keeping rodents away from barns, stables, or sheds. These independent cats thrive in outdoor working environments as long as they have basic shelter, food, and water. Adopting a barn cat not only provides a safe, eco-friendly pest solution but also gives these cats a second chance at life. For more information, contact [email protected] or call 317-738-6090.
Southport Debuts CARDFEST for Homecoming 2025
Southport High School is making a big change to a long-standing tradition. After decades of holding a Homecoming Parade, SHS will debut a new event this year—Homecoming Community Fest (aka CARDFEST)—on Friday, September 19 from 4:30–6:30pm on the school’s front lawn and east parking lot. The “reverse parade” and tailgate will feature games, candy, tables hosted by school groups and alumni, and space for community tailgates. School leaders hope CARDFEST will bring Cardinals of all generations together and become a new Homecoming tradition.
