Greenwood Parks & Recreation to Host One-Day ā€œGreen Fridayā€ Membership Sale

Greenwood Parks & Recreation is offering residents a special ā€œGreen Fridayā€ promotion today, Friday, December 12th, with 20% off all annual memberships. The discount applies to popular amenities including KiD CiTY, The Gym, Freedom Springs, dog parks, and the Greenwood Fieldhouse. The deal is available in person only, giving locals a chance to secure significant savings ahead of the new year. More details are available through the city’s website.

JCPL Hosting Countywide Food Drive Through December 31st

Johnson County Public Library is hosting a food drive now through December 31 to help support local food banks during the holiday season. Donations can be dropped off at any JCPL branch, with most-needed items including peanut butter, canned goods, pasta sides, cereal, toilet paper, and paper towels. Please note, items in glass containers, expired goods, or anything requiring refrigeration will not be accepted. Help make a difference for Johnson County families in need this winter!

Richard’s Brick Oven Pizza has announced it will close its doors on December 31st after serving the Franklin community for more than 16 years. They emphasized the deep connections built with their team and patrons, calling the decision bittersweet but filled with gratitude. The restaurant will remain open through the end of the month as they continue serving pizzas and pinwheels.
