THE DIGEST
Help IndyHumane Restock for Their Shelter Pets
IndyHumane is in urgent need of bath-sized towels and medium/large fleece blankets, which are essential for keeping shelter animals warm, comfortable, and cared for. Their supply is running dangerously low, and they go through these items quickly for bedding, baths, and recovery. They're asking for new or gently used donations (no holes or rips, please). Items can be dropped off at 7929 Michigan Rd in Indianapolis or mailed directly—wishlist available here.
Lemonade for a Cause: Honoring Leanor & Fighting Childhood Cancer One Cup at a Time
Leanor, a brave childhood cancer survivor, inspired a tradition of summer lemonade stands to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and raise funds for pediatric cancer research. This year, her family and friends are back with homemade lemonade, lemony treats, and crafts. The fun kicks off Saturday, May 31 from 11am to 3pm at the West Perry Branch Library during their Summer Reading Program kickoff. More events are planned, including volunteering at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill on June 6. Can’t make it? You can donate directly here!
Roundabout Construction Begins at Morgantown & CR 144
Construction has begun on a new roundabout at Morgantown Road and County Road 144 in Bargersville, starting Tuesday. The intersection will be closed through at least July 29, weather permitting. Drivers are asked to follow the detour via W. County Road 300 North, County Road 450 West, Saddle Club Road, and Whiteland Road.
