JCCF Awards $855K to 10 Local Organizations
The Johnson County Community Foundation awarded $855,000 to 10 local organizations as part of its Capital and Capacity Building Grants. These funds, backed by Lilly Endowment's GIFT VIII initiative, support crucial community projects with a $1-to-$1 matching program. Recipients include Habitat for Humanity, Humane Society, and Franklin Community High School FFA Alumni, among others.
Endress+Hauser To Host STEM Night
Greenwood-based Endress+Hauser and Mayer Najem will host their 10th Annual Community Career and Education Forum on Sept. 19, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event is geared toward 7th-9th graders and their parents, focusing on STEM career opportunities. Attendees can explore career booths, meet college representatives, enjoy a free dinner, and enter to win prizes. Registration is open until Sept. 16.
University of Indianapolis associate professor Rebecca McKanna won the Indiana Authors Award for her debut novel Don’t Forget the Girl. The novel explores the aftermath of a college student's murder and its effect on those left behind. McKanna's work has also been featured in The Best American Mystery Stories 2019 and other prominent publications.

Franklin’s BizBash is This Thursday!
The BizBash Business and Community Expo is happening on September 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Garment Factory Events in Franklin. This free event offers a great opportunity to explore over 80 local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations. It's the perfect chance to network, enjoy food and beverage samples, and connect with the community!
Dancing with the Johnson County Stars This Weekend!
Franklin’s biggest fundraiser, Dancing with the Johnson County Stars, takes the stage on Saturday, September 14, at the Historic Artcraft Theatre. This lively event supports the Johnson County Community Foundation, with tickets priced at $30 for adults and $10 for kids.
You can also catch a preview show on Friday for just $10. Bonus: donations count triple this year thanks to Lilly Endowment’s 2:1 match! Don't miss your chance to support local stars and a great cause!

Tenderloin Pop Up
Bargersville residents can stock up on famous hand-breaded tenderloins this week as a delivery van from Swayzee will be parked at the old Marsh parking lot. Frozen packages of both original and spicy tenderloins, in 10-count packs for $23 each, will be available for purchase. No need to make the drive to Swayzee!
