We've made it to August 23rd, which means the weekend is so close that you can almost taste the brunch. And hey, if you’re into the whole Friday Night Lights thing, grab your gear—it’s officially kickoff time! No matter what, let’s savor these last few golden moments of summer, where the nights are still long, the ice cream’s still melty, and the alarm clocks can still be snoozed a few too many times. Plus, it’s all for an incredible cause—raising funds for pediatric brain cancer research!
From top-tier wiffle ball action featuring CCW’s finest players to a fun-filled reverse raffle, this event is full of excitement, laughter, and competition. Bring your friends, family, and a hefty dose of enthusiasm—because this isn't just a game; it's a celebration of community, sport, and giving back. Let’s knock cancer out of the park!

Indy Airport Reports Record-Breaking Year-to-Date
Indianapolis International Airport (IND) saw record-breaking passenger traffic in the first half of 2024, with over 5.2 million travelers passing through. June 2024 became the airport's busiest month, driven by significant events like the Olympic Swim Trials and a booming summer travel season. IND is on track for a 10% increase in passenger traffic compared to previous years.
South Side Restaurants Participating in Devour Indy’s Summerfest
Devour Indy - the greater Indianapolis area’s premier dining experience - is back with Summerfest.
A handful of south side restaurants are participating with ‘Devour’ menus.
Devour Indy Summerfest runs from August 19th - September 1st.

Freddy’s - with locations in Franklin and Indy’s south side - launched new seasonal flavors.
Freddy's introduced the new Caramel Apple Pie Concrete on August 21, alongside the return of the Pumpkin Pie Concrete, Pumpkin Pie Shake, and the Grilled Cheese Steakburger. These seasonal favorites are available for a limited time, offering sweet and savory treats to enjoy this fall.

Bring your kids out to GFD - Station 91 to race themselves in a free Firefighter Challenge! Run through an obstacle course to mimic what it’s like to be a firefighter!! Chick-fil-A and Kona Ice will also be on site, providing refreshments!
