Roadwork Season is in Full Swing Across Johnson County

With warmer weather comes road construction season, and Johnson County drivers can expect major projects in Greenwood, Franklin, and beyond. Greenwood will see two long-awaited roundabouts, subdivision reconstructions, and widespread paving, while Franklin is tackling new crosswalks, sidewalks, and the full rebuild of Paul Hand Boulevard. The county is also launching a new roundabout at CR 144 and Morgantown Road, along with road overlays, bridge replacements, and 80+ miles of pavement marking improvements. INDOT projects add to the mix with work on U.S. 31, State Roads 135, 44, and 252—bringing closures, lane restrictions, and plenty of orange cones into summer 2025. Stay aware and safe, friends!
