Franklin Chamber of Commerce Hostings Booz & Boos

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce is hosting "Booz and Boos," a networking event by JPtheGeek on Thursday, October 10, at 6 p.m. in Greenwood. Business leaders can enjoy an open bar, catered food, and tech discussions on cybersecurity and AI. Space is limited, so registration is required here.

Greenwood Fire Dept. Providing Screenings for Firefighters

The Greenwood Fire Department, in partnership with Community Health Network and GRAIL, is launching a cancer screening initiative for current and retired firefighters. Using the Galleri test, which detects over 50 types of cancer, 54 members will participate in this proactive health program. The initiative kicks off Tuesday, October 1, at GFD Station 91 in Greenwood. Firefighters face a higher risk of cancer due to job-related carcinogen exposure, making early detection crucial for survival.

Whiteland Middle Schooler a Published Author

Seventh-grader Makenzie Anness from Clark-Pleasant Middle School has already published three books of poetry, tackling themes like first crushes, friendship struggles, and mental health. Inspired by music, particularly Phoebe Bridgers, Anness uses her writing to express emotions many middle schoolers face. Greenwood Park Mall Planning Renovations to the Food Court

Greenwood Park Mall is set for a major facelift aimed at attracting more visitors. The planned renovations include an overhaul of the main dining area with seating for over 400 across nine restaurants, updated restrooms, improved lighting, and other enhancements to create a brighter, more welcoming atmosphere. These upgrades are part of the mall's effort to provide an improved shopping and dining experience for the community.
