THE DIGEST
Southbound 135 Lane Closure
Heads up, Greenwood drivers! Starting this week, the right lane of southbound State Road 135, from Sable Ridge Lane to Fry Road, will be closed for up to 30 days. This is all part of an ongoing bridge replacement project on Fry Road, so be prepared for a bit of a detour if this is part of your usual route.
During this closure, drivers heading west on Fry Road won’t be able to make that left turn to go south on S.R. 135 either. INDOT and Milestone Contractors have plenty of signage and traffic barrels to keep things as smooth as possible, but you’ll still want to drive carefully and keep an eye out for any changes to the traffic pattern.

Bargersville Fire Chief Eric Funkhouser is recovering well from brain cancer surgery, celebrating a milestone with the removal of his staples and receiving the President’s Award at the Indiana Emergency Response Conference. He expressed gratitude to the IFCA and his supportive team for their help along the way.

Controversial Road Extension Removed From Greenwood’s Plans
Greenwood’s City Council has removed the controversial Stop 18 Road extension from its new comprehensive plan. The decision, passed by a 6-3 vote, followed months of public debate, with many residents concerned about the potential impact on Freedom Park. While no immediate plans exist to build the extension, its removal signals a step back from adding another road connection through the park, which leaves nearby residents pleased.
