Registration Now Open for the Turkey Burn 5K Run/Walk in Greenwood

The Annual Turkey Burn is back at Craig Park in Greenwood on Thanksgiving morning! This fun-filled 5K and kids run invites families, friends, and even rivals to come together for a great cause, with all proceeds benefiting The Refuge. The event kicks off with a kids run alongside a “celebrity turkey,” followed by the main 5K. Expect plenty of laughter, joy, and maybe even a runner’s high! It's a perfect way to start the holiday, celebrate community, and give back. Register here!

Fall Break Fun: Weekday Activities at Apple Works and Kelsay Farms

In celebration of fall break, Apple Works will offer its weekend fall activities during the week from October 7-11, 2024, from 10:00an to 6:00pm. Kelsay Farms will also be open on weekdays from noon to 6:00pm during the two weeks of October 7th and 14th, featuring all their usual weekend fun. Perfect for families looking to enjoy extra fall festivities over fall break!

Greenwood Redevelopment Commission

The Greenwood Redevelopment Commission will meet on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, located at 300 S. Madison Avenue. The meeting will also be accessible via Zoom for those who prefer to join remotely. Key agenda items include:

• Review of the Project Masterforce Annual Report and associated incentive requests

• Updates on capital projects such as the Main Street/Madison Avenue Streetscape, the Greenwood Sports Park Complex, and the installation of bike racks at various project sites

• Presentation of the 2025 Spending Plan and a public hearing on TIF appropriations scheduled for November 12

• Reports from city officials and updates on the Market Plaza Project
