Happy Wednesday, South Siders!
It’s October 23rd, which means we’re officially in that sweet spot where pumpkins are everywhere, but the holiday shopping panic hasn't quite hit… yet. You know, that magical time when your neighbor’s spooky yard decorations are still fun and not a trip hazard at night.
So, grab your midweek coffee (or tea, or third cup of whatever gets you through), and let’s breeze through this Wednesday like the fall leaves that will be clogging our driveways by 3 p.m.!

THE DIGEST
Franklin Awarded $750K READI Grant for New Active Adult Center
The City of Franklin has secured $750,000 in funding through the state's READI 2.0 program to help develop a new Active Adult Center at Payne Park. The total project, costing $5.75 million, will rebuild and modernize the current senior center, expanding it into a community space for all ages. The center will feature new amenities like housing additions, a theater, an outdoor stage, event spaces, and more parking. It's set to be completed by August 2025.
Bargersville Leaf Collection Kicks Off
Bargersville's leaf collection service started this week and runs through early December. To keep things running smoothly, residents are asked to pile loose leaves along the curb (not in the road), avoid blocking sidewalks or drains, and keep branches and yard waste out of the leaf piles. No bagged leaves will be collected. Be sure not to park cars on the road during collection days, and keep kids from playing in leaf piles near the street. Happy raking!
