TOGETHER WITH

School’s out, sprinklers are making their neighborhood debut, and somewhere nearby, a grill is already working overtime. The days are longer, the evenings are warmer, and if June had a personality, it’d be that friend who shows up with popsicles and zero plans.

So whether you're leaning into summer mode or just trying to remember what day it is, we’ve got your midweek scoop right here.

In today’s South Side Scoop:

  • šŸƒā€ā™‚ļø Center Grove Unified Track heads to State. Cheer them on at their community sendoff this Saturday!

  • šŸ„„ Gray Brothers Cafeteria is closing after 80 years. Stop in for one last plate of comfort food.

  • šŸŽ” Summer festivals, painting camps, free swim nights, and farmers markets are popping off all week long.

Let’s get to it!

LOCAL BUSINESS

End of an Era: Gray Brothers Cafeteria to Officially Close

A beloved Southside staple is saying goodbye. Gray Brothers Cafeteria in Mooresville will officially close its doors this Sunday, June 8. After 80 years of serving up comfort food and community tradition, the Gray family announced that continuing operations is no longer financially sustainable due to rising costs and industry changes. They’re inviting customers to stop in one last time this week for a meal and memories. The property remains up for sale, and the family expressed deep gratitude for Mooresville and their loyal patrons.
