Today’s the day we honor the fact that, yes, your work emails can wait until Tuesday. Whether you’re flipping burgers, lounging by the pool, or attempting to finally conquer that mountain of laundry (hey, it's called multitasking), take a moment to celebrate the sweat, tears, and coffee breaks that get us through the daily grind.
Enjoy the day off—you’ve earned it. And if you catch someone working, just remind them, “Hey, it’s Labor Day. The only labor required is deciding between ketchup or mustard on your hot dog.”

Greenwood Sports Park opens on Friday
Greenwood's newest gem, the $10 million, 40-acre Greenwood Sports Park, will officially open on Friday, September 6, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Located at 1500 Ray Crowe Way, the park features eight baseball/softball fields, a playground, a splash pad, a cricket pitch, and more. Mayor Mike W. Myers and city officials will celebrate this exciting addition to the community.

Former Funeral Home Being Transformed in Franklin
A historic Franklin funeral home is being transformed into a new commercial space, welcoming J Avenue Boutique and Pillar Wealth as its first tenants. The boutique and the wealth management firm aim to bring a fresh yet upscale presence to the community. The building, located at 197 E. Jefferson St., had operated as a funeral home for 175 years. Both businesses are set to open in mid-October, with construction progressing on schedule. Two additional tenant spaces remain available in the revitalized property.
