THE DIGEST
Hops & Vines Festival Pours Back Into Downtown Franklin This Saturday
Franklin’s beloved Hops & Vines Festival returns this Saturday, August 9th, and it’s shaping up to be the biggest one yet. The event will feature nine breweries, five wineries, and 12 food vendors, plus live music from Russ Baum and Jukebox Luke. Admission to the 21+ beer and wine garden is just $5, with $1 sample pours and $6 full-size drinks. With open lawn seating and a festive downtown vibe, it’s the perfect way to wrap up summer with friends and local flavor!
LOCAL BUSINESS
The Mocha Nut Coffee Shop Teases Second Location—But Where?
You can call me Ms. FBI, because I connected the dots on this one. The Mocha Nut Coffee Shop (1625 E. Southport Road, Southport, IN) just dropped a cryptic teaser hinting at a second location—complete with photos of exposed brick, a red floor, and some very familiar-looking textures. Many Southsiders will recognize the telltale signs of the recently closed Silver Linings Coffeehouse spot at 700 Main St., Beech Grove, which closed its doors on July 26th. While Mocha Nut hasn’t confirmed the address yet, let’s just say... we’re feeling confident (and caffeinated) about what’s brewing.
