Just a quick heads up: there won’t be a newsletter on Monday, September 1st. I’m taking the day off to soak up the long weekend (and it looks like the calendar is pretty quiet on Monday and Tuesday anyway!). Devour Indy Summerfest wraps up this Sunday, August 31st so don’t miss your chance to enjoy exclusive, multi-course menus at special prices! Greenwood Happy Haunts is celebrating its 3rd anniversary in a big way with a vendor event on Saturday, August 30th from 11am–5pm at 248 Market Plaza. The celebration will bring together local vendors, unique finds, and plenty of community fun and judging by the huge buzz on Facebook, it’s shaping up to be one of the most popular weekend events in Greenwood. Shoppers can browse, mingle, and enjoy the festive atmosphere while supporting small businesses.

We visited Storybook Play Café this week and it’s such a fun spot for little ones (recommended for ages 8 and under). My 3.5- and 1-year-old loved the creative play areas while I enjoyed an amazing Top Hat Latte. The space is small but packed with activities, has plenty of tables, super friendly staff, and the Disney soundtrack added to the magic! Heads up: kids need grippy socks, no outside food or drinks, and admission is $11.99 per child. They also offer snacks, drinks, and rotating events like Toddler Time and bracelet making (follow them on Facebook for the latest updates). Highly recommend if your littles need new scenery (and you need a peaceful coffee break)!

Studio You Yoga is hosting an hour long outdoor yoga at Umbarger Plaza in Bargersville. All levels are welcome — just bring a mat, water, and a towel if needed. It’s $15 per person and you can register on StudioYou’s website or app.

Head to Pleasant View Orchard for a fun (and free!), interactive afternoon with Silly Safaris! This live animal show brings education and entertainment together as kids and families get up close with amazing creatures while learning about conservation in a hands-on way.

Don’t miss local legend Dave “The King” Wilson as he returns to Greenwood for a night of laughs! Known for his clean, relatable comedy on topics like travel, aging, the Indy 500, Dave has performed all over the world, but longtime locals may remember him best from his iconic One-Liners Comedy Club (the one with the plane stuck in the roof!). Gear up for The Suds’ annual Labor Day Weekend Car Show in Greenwood! With trophies for the top 20 entries plus “Best Of” categories, there’s something for every car enthusiast. The day will also feature 20+ vendors, a prize basket raffle, and breakfast and lunch served on-site. Dash plaques will be given to the first 50 entries.

Spend your Sunday soaking up the last of summer with a day full of golf, cornhole, and live music at the Birdies & Bags Bash! Tee off in the golf outing earlier in the day (separate entry) and then stick around as the cornhole tournament kicks off at 5pm. The evening will feature live music from Exit 99 and plenty of good eats from the grill available for purchase.
