Veal’s Ice Tree is Back for 2025!

The Veal family’s beloved ice tree is back for 2025, continuing a tradition that started in 1961 when Vierl Veal accidentally created the first icy masterpiece. This year’s tree, already towering at 10 feet, began taking shape last week thanks to the recent cold snap and the dedication of the family’s third generation. Located at 6445 Mimosa Lane in Indianapolis, the tree will keep growing as temperatures stay cold, with plans to add color soon. Don’t miss this gorgeous, unique creation!

Seed Packing Party

Looking for a way to give back and help your community grow—literally? The Southport Library is hosting a volunteer event to pack seeds for the IndyPL Seed Library! With a goal of assembling 75,000 seed packets, volunteers will help sort bulk seeds into individual packets, each designed to feed a family of four. Drop in anytime during the event.
