The Johnson County Recycling District is hosting "Shredding Saturday" on November 16, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Franklin Recycling Center (900 Arvin Drive, Franklin). Open to all Johnson County residents and businesses, this event provides a secure way to dispose of documents. Businesses bringing large quantities should have documents boxed and be ready to assist with unloading to keep things moving smoothly.

New Roundabout Opens at Paul Hand Blvd and Graham Rd in Franklin

The new roundabout at Paul Hand Boulevard and Graham Road in Franklin is now open, marking a $2.4 million collaboration between Franklin, Whiteland, and Johnson County. Designed to improve traffic flow and support economic growth, the project connects communities while benefiting businesses and residents. Funded jointly and completed ahead of schedule, the roundabout has already attracted significant investments, such as Malarkey’s $200 million development. Officials praise the partnership as a model for future infrastructure projects to support Johnson County’s growth.

Christmas in Candyland Holiday Open House

Old Town Greenwood’s Holiday Open House is back to kick off the season with two days of festive fun! Friday features punch card shopping from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., plus a special Girls Night Out from 5 to 8 p.m. with deals and pampering at local spots. Saturday brings punch card shopping all day, a Mistletoe Market (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.), kids’ activities, and photo ops with Santa (2-4 p.m.) and the Grinch (3-5 p.m.).
