THE DIGEST

Bargersville Brush & Limb Collection

Bargersville is having a brush & limb collection on Thursday, October 3rd, to help clean up after the recent storm that knocked down so many branches. If you've got limbs cluttering up your yard, now’s the time to get them to the curb! A few things to keep in mind: limbs must be 8 inches in diameter or smaller, and they should not be in bags. Plus, no shrub trimmings, leaves, or root balls will be accepted.

Eric Moore Named Colts Coach of the Week

Center Grove head football coach Eric Moore earned his 300th career win on Saturday, as the Trojans defeated Lawrence Central 27-18 after postponements due to Hurricane Helene. Senior quarterback Gabe McWilliams led the charge with 348 passing yards and three touchdowns. The win also earned Moore the Colts’ Coach of the Week award, which comes with a $1,000 donation to Center Grove’s athletic fund.

Rosa Parks Elementary Walk-a-thon Raises Funds and Honors Classmate's Cancer Battle

Students at Rosa Parks Elementary hosted a Walk-a-thon on Monday, led by 4th graders, to raise $5,000 for childhood cancer research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. The event also honored 5th grader Leanor Formo, who is in remission from Ewing's Sarcoma, a cancer she discovered after a fall at school. The students walked as part of the "Pugs on the Move" team, inspired by Leanor’s love for pugs, and aimed to walk 560 miles for the Million Mile Challenge during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
