Discover what's happening in Greenwood, Center Grove, Bargersville, and beyond this weekend!

TOGETHER WITH

It’s Friday, November 7th and if you like craft fairs and cold weather, this weekend’s got your name written in glitter glue.

We’re heading into a jam-packed couple of days with more handmade ornaments, hot cocoa stands, and crocheted snowmen than you can shake a fleece-lined mitten at. Make sure your winter gear is out by Sunday, it’s gonna get chilly. But hey, at least the cider will taste even better.

In today’s South Side Scoop:

  • 🎄 Bargersville invites the community to help “Light the Line”: a brand-new holiday decorating contest that will brighten Main Street this season.

  • 🏫 Greenwood Christian Academy announces plans for a major campus expansion, securing land for future middle and high school buildings.

  • â›˝ Big buzz for Buc-ee’s fans: the Texas favorite is in talks to open its first Indiana location right here in Greenwood.

Let’s get to it!

THE DIGEST

Help Bargersville “Light the Line” This Holiday Season

The Town of Bargersville is launching a festive new tradition with its first-ever “Light the Line” holiday fence decorating contest. Individuals, families, schools, and businesses are invited to decorate panels along Main Street between November 15th–30th to help bring Downtown Bargersville to life for the season. It’s free to enter for individuals and nonprofits, and businesses can participate with branding for $25. Community voting runs December 5th–10th, with winners announced December 12th, just in time for Yuletide on Baldwin!

Greenwood Christian Academy Announces Major Expansion Plans

Greenwood Christian Academy is officially under contract to purchase 60 acres of land just south of its current South Campus, with plans to close by January 15, 2026. The new property will allow for a major expansion, including future middle and high school buildings, athletic facilities, and plenty of green space. GCA leaders describe the opportunity as a direct answer to prayer and a step toward long-term growth. More updates will be shared as plans develop for this growing Cougar Territory!

Buc-ee’s in Talks for First Indiana Location Right Here in Greenwood

Big news for Buc-ee’s fans: the beloved Texas-based convenience store and gas station is in late-stage discussions to open its first Indiana location in Greenwood, according to a report from the Indianapolis Business Journal. The company is eyeing a 28-acre site near E. Worthsville Road and I-65, with plans for one of its signature massive travel centers. IBJ also reports that Buc-ee’s may be considering a second central Indiana location in Boone County. An official announcement isn’t expected until 2026. For more information, you can read the full story at IBJ.com.
